Meet Ben!
Ben is a sweet, hard-working, (lowkey!) silly guy who loves experiencing life. His love of performing started at 3 years old with his obsession of the movie “Cinderella,” singing along and waving his self-named “bobby” wand to the song bibbity-bobbity-boo…and can still do it to this day:) Anyone who knows Ben will tell you he always goes the extra mile in whatever he does and holds himself to a very high standard. When he’s not rehearsing or practicing, you can find him studying for the LSAT, watching a good movie (Titanic is #1), or lifting some weights!
Originally planning on pursuing a dual degree in opera and political science, and being accepted to a number of highly accredited programs, he ended up accepting a spot at Brigham Young University’s Musical Theater BFA program and has since graduated in April 2024. He had a wonderful 4 years of learning, including performing in BYU productions such as Fiddler on the Roof, Urinetown, Pirates of Penzance, Die Fledermaus, and Godspell. In addition to these productions, he was able to tour the UK as a company member of the BYU Young Ambassadors and was a member of the BYU Contemporary Dance Company in 2023. He has performed in two seasons with the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theater Company in shows such as CATS, Guys and Dolls, Joseph…Dreamcoat, and Man of the La Mancha, as well as the Jackson Hole Playhouse as the dance captain in Oklahoma!, and at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Fiddler on the Roof. He is currently in Royal Caribbean’s productions of The Wizard of Oz and The Effectors onboard the ICON of the Seas.
Ben began to play piano at the age of 7, and later played for a varsity orchestra, soloing in Bloch’s Concerto Grosso w/ Piano Obligato at the TNMEA All-State Conference. Along with the orchestra, he participated in choir, marching band, and theater. He also attended the High School for Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX specializing in vocal performance (the same vocal program Beyoncé began in). He later was able to study opera/classical voice with Tyler Nelson (Associate Professor of Voice at Vanderbilt University).
